Investing in People

Cooke Brothers was one of the first companies to achieve IiP, Investors In People status, in 1993.The Company has a long-term commitment to training and personal development, which is reinforced by successful reassessment for the IiP in 1996 and again in 1999.

Apprenticeships and commercial training schemes to degree level are provided as well as training for HNC and BTec qualifications.

Training, with day and block release courses at university and colleges, provide the company with a work force equipped to remain at the forefront of the industry. All employees are encouraged to improve their skills by following NVQs up to level five.

Cooke Brothers is involved in local community education and industry liaison initiatives which are aimed at encouraging young people to enter the engineering industry. The company participates in schools and the Education Business Partnerships scheme, The Princes Trust Volunteer Scheme, Young Enterprise Schemes and has recently been a National Winner of the Business in the Community Award.
